What I collect, and what I don't

This is what happens to your information when you use carterative.com. It covers this website only. Client work is governed by the agreement we sign for that project.

Carterative is operated by Carter Stoddard LLC. When this page says I or me, that is who it means.

Your name, your company, your email address and what you need. That is the whole form. There is no account to create and no payment taken through this site.

When you send it, the message is emailed to my inbox. It is not written to a database, a CRM or a mailing list. It lives in my email the same way a message you sent me directly would.

Replying to you. That is it.

Your address is not added to a list, not used for a newsletter (there is not one), not uploaded to any ad platform, and not used to retarget you anywhere. It is never sold, rented or shared with anyone for their own marketing. If you email me, you hear back from me.

This site uses Google Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and roughly where they come from. It sets a small number of cookies to tell one visit from the next. I use it to understand what is working on the site, not to identify you.

Google processes that data under its own privacy policy. Pick Decline on the cookie notice and the analytics cookies are switched off. If you are visiting from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, they stay off until you pick Accept. You can also opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies in your browser. The site works exactly the same either way.

Like nearly every website, the hosting infrastructure records standard server logs: IP address, browser type, pages requested and timestamps. They are used to keep the site running and secure, and for nothing else. Beyond Google Analytics, there are no advertising cookies and no cross-site tracking.

Three providers, each doing one job: Vercel hosts the site, Resend delivers your form message to my inbox, and Google runs the analytics above. Each gets only what it needs to do that job and is bound by its own data-processing terms.

Your message stays in my inbox for as long as the conversation and any work that comes out of it, then for reasonable record-keeping. Ask and I will delete it.

Depending on where you live, including under the California Consumer Privacy Act and, if you are in the EU or UK, the GDPR, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. This site does not sell or share personal information as those laws define it, so there is nothing to opt out of on that front.

To exercise any of those rights, email carter@carterative.com. I will verify the request and respond within the time the law requires, usually 45 days. If a request is declined you get the reason and can appeal by replying. You will never be treated differently for asking.

This is a business site and is not directed at children under 13. I do not knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has submitted the form, email me and it will be deleted.

Everything travels over HTTPS. Form submissions are validated and sent server-side, so no keys ever reach your browser. Access to the messages is limited to me. No method of transmission is perfectly secure, but the surface area here is deliberately small.

If this policy changes, the new version is posted here with a new date. Anything that materially changes how existing information is handled will be called out plainly on this page.
